What is The Goldway?

The goldway network plan is an unique adaptation of the original gold nugget trail plan that was COMMISSIONED by the city of villa rica in 2018

“The Gold Nugget Trail” plan wasn’t created to be integrated with the city, it was created with the intent to bypass the city.

Instead of fixing the issue of sprawl, unwalkability, and car-dependancy in Villa Rica. The old plan perpetuates this bad planning.

the goldway network is comprised of 4 different trails,

for the 4 population center in villa rica. MIRROr lake, Downtown, Highway 61, and highway 78

3.8 miles of paved multi-use path extending all the central in-town areas. Downtown, Fullerville, walton trail, old stone, eastside. along railroads and abandoned easements

5.7 miles, utilizing existing multi-use in paths in mirror lake. Connecting to upcoming conners rd nature preserve

4.3 miles running along tributaries of little tallapoosa river. connecting to commerce dr, villa trace, rivershire place, villa rica high school

7.3 miles of paths along bay springs creek, built mostly in upcoming avemore developement, follows creek around summergate, and ithica elementary, connection to crystal point, good will, augusta woods

Half of The Goldway runs through upcoming developments, where these sections can be assigned to developers as an amenity. Density bonuses can be offered to developers in exchange for creating higher-quality, mixed-use projects that align with The Goldway's desired character.

The Goldway can be the catalyst for not only creating better urban environments in Villa Rica but also fostering a stronger sense of community.
